WFSB Channel 3 offers a decent news package about Hartford's mayoral race.
WFSB-3 News has this website featuring a bunch of stories on various mayoral challengers that I felt deserved highlighting.
Minnie Gonzalez for Mayor has her website up. "Minnie Listens. Minnie Cares. Minnie Delivers." Why does everyone seem to be listening in this mayoral campaign? But not many offer policy insights or legitimate critiques.
I hear also that power broker Tom Ritter's son Matt has thrown his hat in the ring for City Council, and his candidacy announcement attracted the likes of Attornery General Dick Blumenthal, Comptroller Nancy Wyman, Mayor Eddie Perez, and state Senators Eric Coleman and John Fonfara.
According to my source, the luminaries said they weren't there because Matt Ritter shares his father's DNA, but because Matt is a promising, bright young man. Sure.
And I met Bono last week here in Dublin, and he promised that Eddie Perez really is the greatest Mayor in the world. Trust me folks, I paid my $175 to help eliminate Bono's poverty at the U2 concert Perez is highlighting on his website here, and this was rock and roll showmanship at its best. It's really great to be here in Cleveland, now give money to ONE and help stop poverty...
It's also pretty amusing that Perez's website only includes laudatory news stories about him from the Courant and elsewhere. More of Per-Oz fantasyland, where criticism doesn't exist, and just don't look behind the curtain. Be honest and include links to all the critiques to show you can take it with dignity.
